Here again he brings up his constipation problem and convinces Piku that travelling by road suits him and Piku reluctantly gives in. Piku wants to sell her ancestral property Champakunj in Kolkata to which her father strongly objects. Rana also has unhappy family and is a bit distant from his family. Piku daily uses a taxi service to reach office whose owner Rana (played by Irrfan Khan) also likes her. She is an architect working with a firm owned by her friend Syed (played by Jishu Sengupta) who secretly likes her. It affects her prospects of having a proper companion and also a considerate lover.
Bhaskor has lost his wife and Piku mothers him. Throughout the film, interactions, discords and quarrels ensue or are connected to Bhaskor Banerjee���s constipation problem. Right in the beginning of the film, which is set in Delhi, it is established that Bhaskor Banerjee (played by Amitabh Bachchan), father of Piku (played by Deepika Padukone), is suffering from constipation problem. It is this approach that makes Piku stand out as one of the important films of 2015. Shoojit Sircar���s film Piku released this year is one of the finest creations, which uses ���levity��� as an effective tool to convey and address the aforementioned questions in most subtle and deep way. Levity could be an effective tool to communicate unsavoury things in an engaging and entertaining form. In cinema, these questions can be dealt with an effective tool: levity or light-heartedness. Irrfan Khan is the big surprise as a taxi-driver-turned-lover-boy. It’s a funny film that portrays conflicts, emotions, silences, and just the right amount of music. The film, directed by Shoojit Sircar, is about Piku (Deepika Padukone), and her cantankerous and forever constipated father Bhaskor Banerji (Amitabh Bachchan). For me, the introductory lilting sound of the sarodset the tone for “Piku”.
